Glass and facade construction

At the BSV headquarters in Silandro, a cold facade made of laminated safety glass was designed for the funnel-shaped entrance area. The facade extends over a length of approximately 25.0 m and varies in height.
The top edges of the glass have a constant slope of 8% and are structurally bonded and supported at the top and bottom by steel shoes in accordance with ETAG 002. The individual glass elements are arranged in a zigzag pattern, with a short glass element (L=580 mm) following a long glass element (L=2200 mm). *The obtuse angle between the long and short glass elements is approximately 116° for each glass edge.

The height of the glass wall starts at 11.50 m and tapers down to 6.00 m.
To ensure maximum transparency and reflect the scope of BSV’s business, the remaining facade sections and door areas were also designed with all-glass structures and delicate frames.
