New Construction of School Extension, VS Bludenz Mitte

The expansion of the historic school building, dating from 1886, is now complete. Two new wings constructed of reinforced concrete complement the listed structure and blend harmoniously into the park-like surroundings. The clean, minimalist architecture reinterprets the typology of the historic perforated façade in an abstract form using exposed concrete, thereby creating a dynamic interplay between old and new.

Inside, bright, spacious rooms, acoustic enhancements, and state-of-the-art ventilation and security systems create a modern learning environment. With the “Schule im Park,” Bludenz now boasts yet another architectural gem that bridges the past and the present through its design.
